When we are not interested in the task at hand, we need Motivation in the form of external stimulus. Since we do not like what we are doing, we try to find an external motivating force to help us excel in our work. Motivational videos pump us up for the time being and we feel charged up at once. This however, would not help us sustain our functionality for long. The effect will fade away very quickly.

If you like to do a particular thing and are really passionate about it, you will not need motivation at all. You will pounce on that thing and start working on it, like a super hungry you would feed on your most favorite food item. In this case, you will be restless while you are doing that thing and wouldn’t stop unless you complete it. In this state, motivation comes from within. And, you will feel determined to complete your work, no matter what.

Counseling is intended to improve your life in the "real world," so making efforts to try out and practice new behaviors, approaches, or ways of thinking could be a crucial element to the success of your counseling experience..
